Training is essential in order to provide the new generation of researches with the right tools to study the topic of competitiveness. CompNet aims at providing summer schools on a regular basis and at supporting similar initiatives organised by other institutions.
The Tinbergen summer school is now open for application. The event takes place at the tinbergen institute located in Amsterdam and lasts for a whole week (Monday-Friday). The course provides a set of self-contained lectures as well as hands-on practical sessions every day bringing participants up to speed in the area of empirical research using firm-level data. The course covers topics ranging from models of firm dynamics to estimation of productivity and finally discussing recent empirical work on structural modeling of productivity, trade and growth.

CompNet is organizing a two-day course at the European Commission focussing on firm performance and allocative innefficiency estimation. The aim is to give an accessible overview of current literature and hands-on tools to work with the CompNet dataset.
