The Steering Committee

The Steering Committee composed by representatives of each of the funding institutions, as well as data providers on a rotational basis – which sets the overall strategies of the Network

Ettore Dorrucci is the Deputy Chairman of CompNet and Head of the Euro Area External Sector & Euro Adoption Division of the European Central Bank.

Eric Bartelsman is a Professor of Economics and General Director of the Tinbergen Institute.

Aurelija Proškutė is a Senior Economist at the Applied Macroeconomic Research Division at the Bank of Lithuania.

Ralph De Haas is the Director of Research at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Associate Professor at Tilburg University.

Reint E. Gropp is the President of the Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH) and Professor of Economics at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg.

Vincent Aussilloux is the Director of the Economic Department at France Stratégie.

Francisco Caballero is the Head of Unit for 2. European Semester and Member States Competitiveness at the Directorate General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs at the European Commission.

Mary V. Tovsak Pleterski is the Director for Investment, Growth and Structural Reforms at the Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs at the European Commission.

Martin Suster is the Director of the Research Department at National Bank of Slovakia.

Sébastien Roux is the Head of the Department of Economic Studies at Insee, the French national statistical institute.

Debora Revoltella is the Director of the Economics Department of the European Investment Bank.

The Advisory Board formed by highly reputed scholars and led by the ECB Vice President, Mr Constâncio, provides guidance on the CompNet research objectives.

Carlo Altomonte is an Associate Professor at the Bocconi University.

Eric Bartelsman is a Professor of Economics and General Director of the Tinbergen Institute.

Marco Buti is the Director General of DG Economic Financial Affairs at the European Commission.

Jan de Loecker is a Full Professor of Economics at KU Leuven.

William F. Maloney is the Chief Economist for Equitable Growth, Finance and Institutions in the World Bank Group.

Marc Melitz is the David A. Wells Professor of Political Economy at Harvard University.

Gianmarco Ottaviano is a Professor of Economics at the Bocconi University.

Chad Syverson is the J. Baum Harris Professor of Economics at University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is composed of the Chairperson and one senior manager each from the IWH and the ECB – the two institutions providing CompNet with staff support. The Executive Committee makes proposals to the Steering Committee on strategic direction and key activities, and ensures their subsequent implementation. It also allocates staff to the Research Team and the Secretariat.
